Welcome to Spring Welcome Back 2019!

Spring Welcome Back is a series of FUN and FREE events designed to welcome new and returning students to Northwestern State during the spring semester.

Monday – Jan. 14th

Before I Graduate Mural (Campus Living Villages)

11am – 1pm – Student Union Ballroom

What will you do before you graduate? Come share your thoughts, feelings, and goals on our mural!

Meet Your Senator Day (SGA)

11am – 1pm – Student Union Lobby

Meet your student representatives and learn more about getting involved in YOUR Student Government.

Tuesday – Jan. 15th

Resident Assistant Informational (Campus Living Villages)

6 pm – Varnado Hall Residential College Ballroom

Looking to become more involved on campus? Come out and learn what being a RA is all about! Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Wednesday – Jan. 16th

Demon Daze (Freshman Connection)

6 pm – Student Union Ballroom

Be a part of a large icebreaker game with music, interaction, fun, and laughter hosted by the 2019 Freshman Connectors.

Welcome Back Gathering (BCM)

8:30 pm – The BCM

Fellowship with the BCM as we start the semester off right. All students are welcome, and food will be available.

K Love Poetry Night (Student Activities Board)

6 pm – Student Union Ballroom

Poetry night featuring K-Love, an internationally renowned Spoken Word Artist.

11 am – A March for social equality will begin at the WRAC (Hosted by Center for Inclusion and Diversity and African American Caucus)

Meet and Greet with Center for Inclusion and Diversity (CID)

Come out to the union and learn how our campus is developing and sustaining a diverse campus community.

NSU’s Center for Inclusion and Diversity presents: King’s Dream, a Social Justice Discussion

Come out and discuss social justice issues. – 5 pm – Student Union Room 321.

Movie Night (University Programming Council)

BOM-Checking/Savings Sign-up (BOM, NSU’s official banking partner)

8am – 5pm – Student Union Lobby

Join BOM and sign up for a checking or savings account, help build your credit with a credit builder account, or get all of financial questions answered.

Come out to the union and learn how our campus is developing and sustaining a diverse campus community.

Demon VIP Organization Informational (First Year Experience)

5 pm – 6 pm – Student Union Cane River Room

Interested in volunteering and service? Come see what Demon VIP is all about, and learn about how you can get involved all year long with event planning with the Spring and Fall Welcomes, Family and Parent Programs, and Freshman Connection.

Karaoke Night (TRIO Student Support Services)

6 pm – 8 pm – Student Union Ballroom

An evening of fellowship & fun with the TRIO staff. Play Phase 10, UNO, dominoes, etc. and/or sing the song that’s in your heart with Ms. Jamie at karaoke.

Men’s Basketball vs. Sam Houston (Athletics)

6:30 pm – Prather Coliseum

Cheer on the Men’s Hoop Squad as they take on another Southland Conference foe!

Saturday – Jan. 26th

Double Header Basketball Game vs. SELU and Chili Cookoff (Athletics)

1 pm – 5 pm – Prather Coliseum

Women’s Hoops start at 1 pm and Men’s hoops start at 3 PM, while the Chili will be served in between games by the teams competing. *Dress up like Dr. Maggio or Mrs. Jennifer Maggio for a chance to be selected for a promotional half time activity and prizes!*

Tuesday – Jan. 28th

Doubles Badminton (Intramurals)

5:30 pm – WRAC

Start the intramural semester off right with everyone’s favorite lifetime sport of badminton. Make sure to bring a friend for your team.
